Rose Color Glasses

Suddenly a wake,

Aware of my surroundings,

Alone in a dark room,

Nothing like I remember,

Everything use to be bright,

Colorful,

Now it is dark.

Everything takes on a gray color,

All the happiness,

The colors so bright,

Now gone,

I wish to sleep again

So the simple

Happy place

Can be restored,

Nothing.

Like blind fold

Has been lifted from my eyes

The world

Isn’t how it use to be.

Why, you asked

I’m not sure.

Maybe, this change happens when you get older or when something happens to change your world in a big way. That you don't see though rose color glasses anymore. Maybe it just that we don't see the simple joys of life or just don't want to slow down long enough to take in the joy and beauty of life.

What ever it is the joyful color have been taken. I long for the simple fact of the simple fun and living in the moment, not worrying about the future. I envy the child that is happy and thinks a simple sorry fixes everything. If only.

The question nagging at the back of my head is how can the bright happy world be restore so we all can enjoy it? There is no simple answer really. For anything to work you would have to get all to agree to the terms; which is not in our human nature. We are meant to disagree, that our differences makes us who we are.

So what are we supposed to do? Simple, teach our children to relish in the fact that their life’s are simple and not make them grow up to fast. For us to be a kid again and let a simple sorry or even a thank you brighten our day. For that all we can do to save the little color left and maybe it will catch on. Others might see our way.
